Stephanie Parker
While growing up in Memphis, Tennessee, Stephanie’s passion for makeup application began when someone gave her a Barbie Makeover Doll. She spent hours experimenting with makeup colors and techniques and quickly wore the doll out. Doing some local modeling as a teenager, Stephanie realized that she was far more interested in what the Makeup Artists were doing than in being photographed. She was intrigued by the transformative power of makeup application and began practicing every opportunity she could find.
Stephanie graduated from the University of Virginia, where she was the resident makeup artist for all of her friends. Formal events and parties were great opportunities to practice new looks and techniques. She eventually moved to Atlanta where she began working as an Event Planner, but the passion for makeup and her natural gift of seeing the beauty in every face never diminished. She began doing wedding makeup for family and friends and soon realized that her dream job was exactly what she was already doing.
She moved to Richmond in 2003 with her husband and son. As a stay-at-home mom, Stephanie then had the opportunity to transform her passion into a career. She trained formally with top Makeup Artist Michelle Duroy Torres at the Virginia Cinema Makeup School in Makeup Artistry and Hair Styling. It was then that Stephanie Parker Makeup was born.
Stephanie further developed her skills in completing private airbrush makeup workshops with Suzanne Patterson, an Emmy award winning makeup and special makeup effects artist. Stephanie’s work has been featured in Southern Weddings Magazine, Unveiled and Style Me Pretty.
Stephanie is highly sought after for her specific skills in airbrush makeup application and for her ability to make the client look natural and not “made up.” However, she does enjoy opportunities where her creative, artistic side can come out. Stephanie loves the variety of people she meets and believes passionately the saying that “when you do what you love, you never work a day in your life.”
